Beach Resort

Introduction to the project-

  • The site is in Tarkarli, a small township in the Konkan belt of Maharashtra.
  • It is a plain site having an approach road on one side and beach on the other.
  • There was no vegetation on the site.
Challenges in the project-

  • To ensure that maximum rooms have a beach view from the balconies.
  • to try and incorporate various architectural features of the area.
  • To make the project sustainable.

  • The main building has been made self-sufficient so that the resort functions during peak monsoon season.
  • Small sit-outs are provided along the pathways. Some are covered while others are open to sky. Every sit-out looks different and has a different landscaping done.
  • The resort looks like a small township. 
  • The resort is very simple with little luxury but very calm to reflect Tarkarli(the site).

  • The main building consists of studio rooms on first and second floor.
  • There are four suits with two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchenette.
  • There are three twin cottages comprising of a bedroom each, a living room and kitchenette.
